Some fabric covers on our furniture are not removable, below are specific guides on how to handle "spot stains" for all different cleaning codes:
W: W refers to Water-based Cleaning.
Spot clean only with water-based shampoo or foam upholstery cleaner. Distilled water is ideal.
Pretest a small, inconspicuous area before proceeding.
To dab spots use a clean white or cream cloth, to avoid colored cloths bleeding their color onto the fabric.
Do not over-wet the cloth.
For Professional Water-Based Cleaning, such as hot water extraction or steam cleaning, please consult with a trustworthy cleaning service company first.
S: S refers to solvent-based Cleaning.
Spot clean only with a water-free dry-cleaned solvent. Read the solvent instructions and follow them carefully.
Pretest a small, inconspicuous area before proceeding.
Do not use water, it may leave water marks and cause fabric shrinking or bleeding.
After application, vacuum the fabric and leave the area dry, ensuring room ventilation.
W/S: W/S refers to both water-based and solvent-based Cleaning.
Spot cleaning allows for both wet and solvent cleaning, but depends on whether the stain is oil-based or water-based. Professional Upholstery Cleaning is appropriate.
Pretest a small, inconspicuous area before proceeding.
Do not saturate.
Hot water extraction or steam cleaning is not recommended.
X: X refers to No Cleaning/Vacuum only
Clean only by vacuuming or light brushing with a non-metallic, soft bristle brush.
Do not use any water or solvent-based cleaners.
D: D refer to Dry Clean
The fabric can only be dry-cleaned.
Note: some pile fabrics may require brushing with a non-metallic, soft bristle brush to restore appearance or reset nap.
